Hi Everyone!
My name is Sandina Polgar, Chef/Owner of Dinner with the Mrs. Personal Chef Service in Trenton. I’m excited to be a part of DADBA, giving me an opportunity to share with you my passion for all things food. My personal chef business was born from a lifetime of food appreciation. Since 2002 I’ve shared with clients my belief that “to eat is one thing….to dine, quite another”. Food should be more than sustenance-it should feed the soul as well as the stomach! I’m an avid believer in the “each one, teach one” philosophy and I’ve applied that by sharing my passion for food. I teach demonstration-style cooking classes in my Trenton home in addition to my dinner services. AFLAC
I am Kathy Stein-Hazeldine with Aflac. My last name actually rhymes with itself. But, enough about me. My product, AFLAC, American Family Life Assurance Company of Columbus supplementary insurance pays benefits directly to the insured, we do NOT pay the doctor. Our program can be offered at no cost to the business, while it is still affordable to the employees, at about an hourly wage per week.
We have about 10 different insurance policies that the employees can pick and choose from. There are different costs, but few cost more than an hourly wage per week. New products are being rolled out in 2009. Also, this year, Aflac is revising some of the products. For instance, our short term disability product will be offered to part time employees, who work at least 19 hours per week. Even now, employees who work over 30 hours can apply for disability insurance from Aflac.

My name is Matt Trueblood. I was born, raised, and currently live in Downriver Michigan. About a year ago I created a graphic and web design company called Trueblood Designs. Here's how I got to where I am today.....
During my quest of obtaining a Bachelor of Science from Eastern Michigan University in Computer-Aided Design, I spent 2 summers as a Project Design Engineer Intern with Johnson Controls. Right out of college I extended my engineering career as a Lead Engineer with Fisher & Company (the ole' Fisher Body family). Fisher & Company engineers, designs, and manufactures products such as recliners, latches, head restraints, arm rests, and actuators/tracks for seating systems. I had the responsibility of creating sales presentations, advanced product development dashboards, product brochures, and technical manuals. At times I was brought into the sales meetings to give the sales presentations, and was also responsible for sending out the product brochures and technical manuals I designed. I actually took it on myself to re-create the materials as I saw we were getting no return on investment from them. I guess you can say I was in Sales and Marketing too.
Two years ago today I was asked by management to manage and coordinate the redesign of the Company's website. Fisher & Company had hired a multi-million dollar company to redesign their website, and I was given the responsibility to provide this company with what we wanted the site to look like aesthetically, the content of the site such as text and photography, and direction moving forward. I was in charge of defining our audience, decision making, scheduling, and the overall look and feel of the site.
Graphic and web design was a hobby of mine ever since high school, and when it started to become my job/career, I began to realize what I really had a passion for. Business: Inner Balance Therapeutic Massage
Jan Gilliam worked as a medical assistant and a physical therapy technician doing massages when she decided to go to massage school and get her license. She has been in business now for 3 years and thinks that getting her name out to the public has been one of the biggest obstacles in growing her clientele and getting started.
